Camping Recipes: Breakfast Ready in 15 Minutes

Breakfast Burrito

Total Cooking Time: 10 Minutes

Difficulty: Easy

Skill: Beginner

Forget the instant oatmeal. I mean it. You can now have a hot breakfast even when morning are crazy when you are camping with these breakfast burritos. Spread beans down centres of tortillas; top with sausage, eggs, cheeses, tomatoes, and cilantro. Fold in opposite sides of each tortilla, then roll up, burrito-style. Place, seam-sides down, onto preparing aluminium foil; cover. Sure, you can make burritos at home before you head out to the campsite. But when you make your burritos fresh and over an open fire (around 10 minutes) you instil it with tasty qualities that add flavour, aroma, and texture.

Campfire Breadstick

Total Cooking Time: 10 Minutes

Difficulty: Easy

Skill: Beginner

This recipe is super easy. I just simply wrap the store-bought dough around a stick to make my own breadstick. Basically, I didn’t invent anything new. But of course you can always make your dough ahead time by storing all your dry ingredients in a plastic baggie, then mix it with water at the campsite. Depending on the heat and height of the fire, it may take a while to cook, but slowly and surely, you'll see the dough begin to brown. Continue to cook the breadstick until it reaches the level of brown you like. Well, I like it burnt lol. Now the fun part. You can either eat it plain, or, roll the breadstick in butter and season it however you like! The possibility of flavours with these breadsticks are endless!

Omelette In A Bag

Total Cooking Time: 12-13 Minutes

Difficulty: Easy

Skill: Beginner

Want to impress everyone at your next campout? Throw your omelette in a bag! Crack the eggs into each individual bag – I like to use 2 eggs per person. Then add in what I like to call the “cleaning out the fridge” toppings – peppers, onions, cheese, ham, sausage, spinach – whatever you have on hand.    Drop each bag into the boiling water and cook them for about 12-13 minutes. After the allotted time, carefully pull out the bags, slide the omelette on to your plate and enjoy! Yes, there’s no clean-up, unless you can’t figure out what bowl to use for your photoshoot.
